Kevin A. Butler is a poet, writer and photographer who occupies a transitional, liminal space—specifically, the midwestern threshold between urban isolation and rural peace.
Geographically and atmospherically, he is stuck between the rumble of commuter trains, lower Wacker Drive garbage cans, capitalist malls, and neon-lit Denny's on one hand—and a deep, genetic longing for Northern Wisconsin bays, muddy cow pastures, apple orchards, and silent winter fields on the other.
Emotionally, he resides in the space of the epilogue. He is a writer who constantly looks backward to find closure, sorting through "mental furniture" to make sense of what just ended so he can boldly step into what is next.
